Tide Talks: A Southern Maryland and High Desert Tech Bridge Collaboration
Event Summary

Description
This event is a joint discussion between Rick Tarr, Director, NAWCAD Technology Transition Office, Director, SOMD Tech Bridge, and ORTA and Dylan Riley, Co-Director High Desert Tech Bridge, NAWCWD Director of Technology Transfer, and ORTA. They will be discussing the intricacies of their roles, how they collaborate together, and the ways they work with small businesses and academia, all to support the warfighter. Specific topics being covered are: partnering with the Navy, the roles of ORTAs, Technology Transition (T2) and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs).

Event Description

This hybrid event will take place both virtually and in person, you may register as a virtual attendee or in person at one of the aforementioned Tech Bridges.

Rick Tarr will be joining Lindsey Frisco at the SOMD Tech Bridge at Tech Port, 44185 Airport Rd, California, MD 20619.

Dylan Riley will be joining Tammy Schiller at the High Desert Tech Bridge at TechGrid, 221 West Inyokern Road, Ridgecrest, California 93555.

The NavalX Tech Bridge Network provides front-door access to Department of the Navy (DoN) priorities and opportunities for academia, startups, small businesses, and local experts who want to work with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Serving as technology scouts, local networking hubs, and connection points between potential solution providers and Naval Warfare Centers and Labs, the NavalX Tech Bridges have the connections and expertise to help nontraditional technologists navigate the naval innovation ecosystem.

There will be no FAR acquisition information shared during this event, nor information on any project currently under contract. This engagement serves as an interactive conversation between the participants and not a one way sharing of information or a presentation. In-person attendance at each location will be limited to 45 attendees on a first come first serve basis.
